Villiersdorp: Bakery Counter Hand

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and trustworthy individual to join our bakery team as a Counter Hand. As a key member of our front-of-house team, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring a seamless shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve customers efficiently at the bakery counter
• Slice, pack, and label bakery products (bread, pastries, cakes, etc.)
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety
• Ensure displays are well-stocked, clean, and visually appealing
• Provide product knowledge and assist customers with their selections
• Handle basic transactions and operate POS systems where required
• Assist with stock rotation and control

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years relevant retail or FMCG experience (non-negotiable)
• Previous experience in a bakery or fresh foods environment is advantageous
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Good attention to detail and hygiene standards
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
