Job Description
An agile software development and digital marketing agency that builds custom digital solutions for businesses, including Fintech, eCommerce, and Loyalty platforms, along with digital marketing strategies for growth, is seeking an experienced AWS-focused backend developer to join their team for a 6-month contract. In this role, you will be responsible for architecting and implementing cloud-based backend systems using a variety of AWS services. You’ll also integrate these systems with modern application backends to ensure seamless functionality.
Responsibilities:

Design and implement serverless and hybrid AWS architectures using services like Lambda, API Gateway, S3, Redshift, Glue, Textract, and EventBridge.

Build and maintain RESTful APIs for high-availability web applications.

Work with relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL and data warehouses.

Integrate with various third-party APIs and cloud services.
-
Implement robust security practices across both AWS and application layers.
-
Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure smooth API consumption.
-
Set up CI/CD pipelines and participate in DevOps processes.
-
Produce clean, well-documented, and maintainable code.
Minimum Requirements:
-
5+ years of professional backend development experience.
-
Strong AWS architecture skills with a focus on services like S3, Lambda, and API Gateway.

Proficiency in at least one of the following: PHP (Laravel), Python, or Java.

Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL.
-
A solid understanding of REST API design principles.

Experience with Git version control and CI/CD pipelines.
-
Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
Nice to Have
-
Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and ECS/Fargate.

Experience with ETL workflows using services like Glue or Step Functions.

Knowledge of OCR and AI integrations, including Textract and OpenAI.

Understanding of data analytics pipelines.

Exposure to microservices architecture.

An AWS certification (e.g., Developer Associate, Solutions Architect Associate).
