About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Manual Writer / Editor to join our team in Montague Gardens, Cape Town. As a key member of our documentation team, you will be responsible for creating and editing detailed end-user documentation, working closely with design, sales, and manufacturing teams to capture technical machine details, and maintaining and updating manuals, machine parameter lists, and training materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Documentation Creation: Create and edit detailed end-user documentation using Adobe InDesign.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with design, sales, and manufacturing teams to capture technical machine details.
  • Content Maintenance: Maintain and update manuals, machine parameter lists, and training materials.
  • Visual Documentation: Photograph equipment and compile visual content (photos/videos) for manuals.
  • Graphic Design: Design and edit artwork, branding, and safety diagrams using Adobe tools.
  • Compliance: Ensure all documentation complies with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to continuous improvement and maintain a strong documentation filing system.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience writing/editing technical manuals.
  • Education: Tertiary qualification in technical writing is considered advantageous.
  • Software Proficiency: Expert proficiency in Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Acrobat).
  • Technical Literacy: High proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to interpret machine design concepts.

Salary: R20K – R45K CTC depending on experience/qualifications.
