About the Role
Our client within the commercial vehicle and transport industry is seeking an experienced and trade-tested Red Seal Boilermaker to join their Panelshop team in East London. The successful candidate will be responsible for metal fabrication, welding, truck body repairs, and ensuring all work is completed according to high-quality and safety standards within required deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate, cut, shape, and assemble metal components accurately
- Perform welding and fabrication work according to specifications
- Conduct truck body repairs and maintenance work
- Read and interpret job cards, quotations, and technical drawings
- Assess vehicles and identify additional damages where required
- Order and verify required parts and materials
- Strip and reassemble vehicle components
- Ensure proper panel alignment and fitment
- Conduct quality inspections on completed work
- Ensure vehicles meet roadworthy and safety standards
- Maintain workshop equipment and fabrication tools
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations
- Work closely with workshop teams to ensure project deadlines are met
- Maintain accurate job records and documentation
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Trade-Tested Red Seal Boilermaker (Non-Negotiable)
- Minimum 5 years relevant workshop experience
- Experience within truck body building, heavy commercial vehicles, panelshop, earthmoving, or related industries advantageous
- Strong welding and metal fabrication experience
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Knowledge of Oxy Fuel heating and cutting
- Proficient in the use of plasma cutters, grinders, shears, jigs, fixtures, and rotators
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications (if applicable)
