About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating production to meet delivery deadlines and turnover targets. With a strong background in manufacturing or industrial environments, you will lead and manage a production team, including foremen and operators, to drive operational efficiency and improve productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate production to meet delivery deadlines and turnover targets
  • Monitor and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production performance
  • Optimise labour, materials, and factory capacity to improve throughput
  • Lead and manage a production team, including foremen and operators
  • Set performance standards and address underperformance effectively
  • Train, coach, and develop team members to improve productivity and skills
  • Ensure all products meet required specifications and quality standards
  • Implement and enforce quality control processes across the production line
  • Identify defects, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
  • Enforce health and safety compliance across the factory floor
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards and workplace organisation (5S)
  • Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and waste, and implement improvements
  • Drive continuous improvement and standardisation of manufacturing processes
  • Provide technical guidance and support across production departments

Requirements

Proven experience as a Production Manager within a manufacturing or industrial environment. Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and factory operations. Experience managing teams in a production environment (±30 staff, including foremen). Ability to manage performance, discipline, and workforce productivity.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Manager to lead our production team in Cape Town City Centre. As a hands-on leader, you will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be passionate about operational excellence, continuous improvement, and building high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage, and oversee all production activities to meet delivery, quality, and cost targets
  • Manage production line in line with Business process approach to cross-functional delivery including setup, startup checks, and in-process control

  • Plan capacity and headcount across permanent and flexible labor pools
  • Apply Extreme ownership leadership principles in daily operations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or a related field
  • Post-grad production management or leadership qualifications will be to your advantage
  • 5-8 years experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or management role
  • Experience in packaging, plastics or FMCG manufacturing will be advantageous
