About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Randburg, responsible for managing and overseeing engineering projects from conception to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management: Preparing, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring of assigned engineering projects.
- Client Interaction: Interacting with clients, interpreting their needs and requirements.
- Quality Control: Performing quality control tasks on budgets, schedules, plans, and team performance and reporting on project status.
- Collaboration: Cooperating and communicating with the project director / manager and other project participants to create more efficient project methods and maintain profitability.
- Site Investigations: Visiting sites and preparing evaluations of existing sites.
- Conceptual Design Preparation: Assisting with the preparation of conceptual reports which will include preliminary designs and analyses, drawings, cost estimates, project schedules and project implementation plans.
- Equipment Specification Development: Developing specifications for required equipment.
- Detailed Design Preparation: Preparing detailed designs, analyses, tender drawings, schedules of quantities, contract documents, project cost estimates, project schedules and project implementation plans.
- Quality Assurance: Ensuring projects comply with applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards and specifications.
- Tender Process Supervision: Assisting with the issue of tenders, preparation of notices to tenders, adjudication of tenders and preparation of tender reporting.
- Construction Site Supervision: Handling site queries, preparing monthly payment certificates, cost report cost control and managing quality assurance.
- Systems Commissioning: Visiting sites during construction to confirm installations are being done as per design intent.
- Administration: Assisting with the preparation of standards, file drawings, printing of drawings, and drawing issue slips.
Requirements
- BSc. or BEng. in Electrical Engineering
- 4 – 8 years relevant experience
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications in Electrical Engineering (if applicable)
