About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Game Ranger to join our luxury safari lodge in Zululand, where you will deliver memorable safari experiences and share your expertise with guests. As a guest-focused individual, you will be enthusiastic about wildlife, storytelling, and delivering exceptional service in a high-end hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct two daily game drives
- Host and engage with guests during evening activities such as fires, braais, and social gatherings
- Assist guests with hosting duties including braai preparation and drinks service
- Share in-depth knowledge of wildlife, conservation, and the natural environment through storytelling
- Assist in planning next-day sightings and guest activities
- Check, clean, and prepare game drive vehicles
- Assist with veld maintenance, road upkeep, and general outdoor duties during quiet periods
- Support lodge operations where required to ensure a seamless guest experience
- In emergency situations, assist with all necessary response duties as part of the team
Requirements
Previous experience as a Game Ranger within a safari or lodge environment
Strong knowledge of wildlife, guiding, and conservation practices
Excellent communication and storytelling skills
Confident in guest interaction and hosting responsibilities
Practical, hands-on approach with a willingness to assist across lodge operations
Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations
Strong team player with a proactive attitude
Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences in a remote bush environment
