About the Role
The Assistant Lodge Manager is a hands-on operational support role working closely with the Lodge Manager to ensure seamless daily lodge operations, exceptional guest experiences, and high-performing teams within a luxury safari environment. This live-in position requires a strong leadership and team coordination skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and a passion for luxury guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Lodge Manager with daily lodge operations
- Ensure exceptional guest experiences through personalised, attentive service
- Supervise and coordinate front-of-house and housekeeping teams
- Assist with staff training, development, and performance management
- Handle guest queries, requests, and service recovery professionally
- Maintain high standards of lodge presentation, cleanliness, and service delivery
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and administrative duties
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company operational standards
- Support smooth communication between all lodge departments
- Assist in maintaining operational consistency and service excellence
Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar lodge or hospitality management role
- Experience in luxury safari or 5-star hospitality environment advantageous
- Strong understanding of lodge operations across departments
- Proven ability to support and lead teams effectively
- Flexible to work in a live-in, remote operational environment
