About the Role
HotelJobs is partnering with an international hospitality group to appoint an experienced French speaking Director of Engineering for the pre-opening of an internationally branded hotel in Benin. The successful candidate will oversee all technical aspects of the hotel during pre-opening and ongoing operations, ensuring operational readiness timelines are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical handover from project team to operations
- Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of all MEP systems
- Implement preventative maintenance programs and asset management plans
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, fire, and environmental regulations
- Manage energy conservation and sustainability initiatives
- Build and train engineering team prior to opening
- Manage maintenance budgets and CAPEX planning
Requirements
- 10+ years of engineering leadership within international branded hotels
- Strong pre-opening and project handover experience essential
- Degree/Diploma in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical preferred)
- Strong knowledge of hotel systems (HVAC, BMS, fire/life safety, generators)
Qualifications
- Fluent in French & English – essential
