About the Role
A leading mining technology and automation company is seeking an experienced Electronic Project Engineer to design, develop, and implement smart mining systems. The successful candidate will work on advanced solutions involving automation, sensors, IoT, and control systems to improve mining safety, productivity, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of smart mining electronic systems
- Manage full project lifecycle: concept → design → implementation → commissioning
- Develop and integrate:
- Sensors and instrumentation systems
- Embedded systems and control units
- Communication networks (e.g., CANbus, Modbus, Ethernet)
- Oversee testing, validation, and troubleshooting of systems
- Ensure compliance with mining safety standards and regulations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (software, mechanical, automation)
- Provide technical support on-site and remotely
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and specifications
Requirements
- BEng/BSc in Electronic or Electrical Engineering
- 3–7+ years’ experience in:
- Electronic system design
- Mining, automation, or industrial environments
- Strong knowledge of:
- PCB design, analogue & digital electronics
- Embedded systems / microcontrollers
- Control systems and instrumentation
