About the Role
As a Shift Leader at Staff Solutions in Durban, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient utilization of labour and material resources to meet customer requirements. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a leadership role in a manufacturing environment, where you will be expected to implement processes that minimize waste and maximize productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and manage total units produced to meet targets.
- Accurately measure, record, and manage Change Over time/Lost.
- Minimise, measure, and record Unplanned Overtime to meet targets.
- Monitor & control the usage of PPE & Consumables.
- Effective management & deployment of resources.
- Evaluate rejects root cause and create plans for discussion with management to reduce or eliminate losses within your control and act accordingly.
- Improve production within areas of control.
- Manage, improve & promote 5S in the plant according to the 5S Audit Sheet.
- Ensure PPE Issued and Correct Usage and follow SHEMS Procedures.
- Ensure incident reports are filled in timeously. Manage, improve & meet safety targets within the working area.
- Perform machine/equipment safety checks.
- Ensure parts produced meet quality specifications.
- Manage & reduce the outflow of defective components.
- Compile production schedule.
- Ensure stock is available for production.
Requirements
National Senior Certificate
Supply Chain or A Relevant qualification (Advantageous)
1 to 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
Intermediate computer skills
