About the Role
Network Finance is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join their team in Johannesburg South. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the general ledger, performing balance sheet reconciliations, and analyzing monthly expenses. They will also process foreign exchange transactions, manage intercompany accounts, and ensure compliance with SARB requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the general ledger, including journals, reconciliations, and monthly provisions
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain the fixed asset register
- Analyse monthly expenses, reviewing MTD and YTD trends
- Support the preparation of management accounts
- Process foreign exchange transactions, revaluations, and currency updates
- Manage intercompany accounts, balances, and reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with SARB requirements for crossborder payments
- Prepare inputs for international financial reporting (HFM or similar advantageous)
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and EMP201
- Process payroll journals and thirdparty statutory payments
- Assist with audit processes, tax schedules, and queries
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal finance policies
- Manage banking administration, electronic payments, credit cards, and petty cash (including forex)
- Perform bank reconciliations and support cashflow management
Requirements
- Matric and BCom Accounting
- CA(SA) advantageous but not essential
- Minimum 3 years’ accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or a similar environment
- Experience in multicurrency and multinational environments
- Strong technical knowledge of:
- Forex accounting
- Intercompany transactions
- VAT and statutory compliance
