About the Role
We are seeking a Sales Assistant to join our team at Birkenstock V&A Waterfront in Cape Town. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and driving sales growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Acknowledge every customer within 30 seconds
- Deliver excellent customer service to every customer following the Birkenstock customer service procedures
- Establish customers’ needs and use technical knowledge to demonstrate benefits
- Close the sale & secure add on sales
- Invite customers to back & turn them into Birkenstock fans
- Monitor daily sales against individual budget every few hours
- Replenish footwear, apparel, and accessories from storeroom daily
- Minimize shrinkage by zoning the store, acknowledging customers, and following the Birkenstock changing room policy
- Ensure stock entries in POS systems are accurate
- Process deliveries by checking quantities, invoices, tagging, hanging, and pricing product
- Record customer orders
- Maintain store housekeeping daily including dusting, cleaning mirrors, vacuuming, emptying bins, clearing counter area, and tidying change rooms
- Assist manager with open and closing the store
Requirements
- Grade 12 or Equivalent
- Min. 6 months customers services experience
- Birkenstock knowledge advantageous (not essential)
