Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Creditors / Accounting Clerk to join a busy and professional accounting environment. This role is ideal for someone with strong accounting knowledge, excellent administrative ability, and solid experience working on Pastel and SARS e-Filing.
The successful candidate must be confident working independently, able to manage deadlines, and comfortable communicating with clients regarding basic accounting and tax matters.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (additional accounting/finance education advantageous)
- Proven experience as a Creditors / Accounting Clerk
- Strong understanding of VAT and PAYE
- Proficient in Pastel Accounting and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent telephone etiquette
- Fully bilingual: Afrikaans and English (read, write, speak)
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Good time management and ability to meet deadlines
- Professional, neat, and presentable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Friendly, positive personality
- Able to work well in a team and assist with various tasks when required
Key Responsibilities
- Monthly Pastel processing up to Final Trial Balance
(opening balances, debtors, creditors, journals, cashbooks, etc.) - Compilation and review of VAT reports on Excel
- VAT calculations and turnover reconciliations
- SARS submissions via e-Filing
- Reviewing VAT reports and Pastel processing completed by accounting clerks
- Cashbook processing and bank reconciliations
- Invoice processing and reconciliations
- Handling basic client queries related to VAT and submissions
