QCTO/CATHSSETA Facilitator & Assessor Restaurant waitrons

1. Role Purpose

To facilitate and assess learners enrolled in the National Occupational Certificate: Food & Beverage Service Attendant (ID: 124385) learnership, ensuring practical workplace readiness, service excellence, and compliance with CATHSSETA/QCTO requirements.

2. Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate training sessions for waitron learners
  • Assess learner competence in both theory and workplace performance
  • Guide learners through structured learning and workplace application
  • Conduct formative and summative assessments aligned to unit standards
  • Maintain accurate learner records, POE documentation, and attendance tracking
  • Coach learners on service standards, customer interaction, and operational readiness
  • Monitor learner progress and provide continuous feedback
  • Ensure compliance with CATHSSETA/QCTO requirements and audit readiness
  • Submit assessment reports and updates to Project Lead
  • Coordinate with hospitality sites for workplace-based learning integration
  • Manage own travel and facilitation schedule across Gauteng sites

3. Qualifications & experience

MANDATORY:

  • Registered CATHSSETA assessor/moderator or relevant facilitator qualification (ETDP SETA or equivalent).
  • Relevant qualification in Hospitality / Restaurant Management and/or minimum 3 years practical experience in Restaurant/ Hospitality industry (e.g. Senior Waiter, Restaurant Supervisor, or Hospitality Management qualification).

PREFFERABLE:

  • Strong understanding of service operations and occupational training.

5. Working Conditions

  • Contract basis (12-month learnership cycle)
  • Travel within Gauteng to multiple hospitality training sites
  • Approx. 23 training engagements per week
  • Reports to Project Lead: Employment Learnership Division
  • Responsible for full learner lifecycle management
