Job Description

Our client is currently seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their growing and expanding team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping & Transactional Processing

  • Process daily transactions including receipts, payments, journals, and bank entries
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations across multiple client accounts
  • Maintain accurate debtor and creditor ledgers
  • Process payroll journals and reconcile to payroll reports
  • Capture and reconcile petty cash and credit card transactions
  • Liaise with clients professionally to resolve queries and obtain source documents

Systems & Administration

  • Capture and maintain financial data on Xero, Sage, QBO or similar platforms
  • Set up and manage bank feeds, chart of accounts, and customer/supplier profiles
  • File and maintain client financial records in digital document management systems

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Xero (essential); Sage or QBO experience advantageous
  • Intermediate MS Excel skills
  • Familiarity with Draftworx, or similar advantageous

Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma or Certificate in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or Finance or studying towards similar
  • Proven experience in a similar role (minimum of 3 years experience)
  • Clear criminal and credit record
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and procedures
  • Accurate and excellent attention to detail
  • Proficient in written and verbal English
  • Adherence to financial deadlines
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Good team player as well as having the ability to work independently
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment
