About the Role
A leading nicotine and alternative tobacco products company is seeking three experienced Field Sales Agents to join their team in KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng, and the Western Cape. This high-activity, field-based role focuses on securing new retail stockists and driving repeat orders within an assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, visit, pitch, and secure new independent retail stockists within the assigned territory
- Close first orders, ensure correct SKU mix, and establish reorder triggers
- Execute merchandising standards, including product placement, visibility, pricing display, and stock rotation
- Build and maintain a strong repeat-order base to prevent stock-outs
- Develop and follow efficient daily route plans targeting high-potential outlets
- Build and manage strong relationships with store owners and managers
- Log all visits, outcomes, photos (where required), and orders on the CRM/field app daily
- Report competitor activity, pricing, promotions, and market feedback
- Ensure compliance with company standards and applicable regulations
- Participate in sales meetings, coaching sessions, and achieve set KPIs
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Valid drivers licence (Code 8) and willingness to travel daily
- 13+ years experience in field sales (FMCG, beverages, liquor, tobacco/vape, telecoms, or similar industries)
- Proven track record of selling into independent retail and opening new accounts
- Experience with route planning, merchandising standards, and reorder management (advantageous)
- Comfortable using CRM or mobile field sales applications
- Strong communication, negotiation, and closing skills
- Self-motivated, resilient, and target-driven
