About the Role

The Learning & Development Specialist role is a critical component of our organisation’s growth and development strategy. As a Centurion, you will be responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating learning solutions that drive behaviour change and performance outcomes, while leveraging emerging technologies to enhance the learning experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth learning needs analyses in consultation with relevant stakeholders by: Identifying skills gaps, skills priorities, performance challenges, and capability needs across the organisation.
  • Partner with Organisational Development Specialists to integrate leadership capability insights into talent, succession, and L&D plans, ensuring alignment between leadership development initiatives, organisational priorities, and future L&D capability requirements.
  • Manage Learning Project -Develop, maintain, and review Technical and Generic Competency Dictionaries
  • Co-create, implement, and review Coaching and Mentoring programmes
  • Conduct competency-based assessments and Skills audits
  • Procure and contract-manage service providers for all L&D-related projects as required
  • Provide input to the L&D strategy and develop and maintain L&D policy and procedure
  • Design, development, delivery, and evaluation of learning solutions – Research, design, develop, and deliver and/or procure high-impact, credit-bearing learning interventions using blended learning approaches, including in-person facilitation, virtual training, and digital content.
  • Facilitate customised, engaging, high-quality leadership development and core (soft) skills learning sessions that drive behaviour change and performance outcomes.
  • Impact measurement and evaluation: Track, analyse, and report on the effectiveness and business impact of learning initiatives. Use data and feedback to continuously refine and improve learning solutions.
  • Innovation Champion and effective use of AI and emerging technologies -Leverage AI and other emerging technologies to enhance the design, development, and delivery of learning solutions. Champion innovation by identifying and implementing new tools, platforms (LMS), and methodologies that improve learner engagement, efficiency, and impact.
  • Combined Assurance -Implement risk identification and mitigation for initiatives within the scope of control. Ensure that the control environment (legislation, policies, procedures, and best practices) is enabled for L&D interventions. Implement budget management, reporting, and monitoring interventions within the scope of control.
  • Organisational Participation and Team Support Participate in cross-functional teams, committees, etc., as appointed

Requirements

  • B Degree (NQF 7)
  • NQF 8 Preferable
  • Internal Experience Required: Specialist – 6 years of work experience
  • 3 years of practitioner-level experience
