About the Role
We’re seeking a highly skilled Customs & Bond Store Clerk to join our client’s team in Durban. As a key member of the logistics and warehousing sector, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with customs regulations and managing bond store processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile draft customs entries for cross-border loads (Lusaka & Harare)
- Review commercial invoices and packing lists for accuracy
- Ensure correct tariff classifications, valuations, and permits
- Submit customs entries in line with regulations
- Manage customs stops, port health, and plant inspection detentions
- Maintain compliance with SARS and international customs regulations
- Prepare and manage acquittal reports
- Review bond requests and issue bond letters
- Handle bonded cargo documentation and entries into warehouse
- Monitor bond status and ensure timely clearance or transfers
- Track and manage bond values
- Reconcile bond entries and maintain audit-ready records
Requirements
- Proven experience in customs entries (non-negotiable)
- Strong understanding of SARS customs regulations
- Experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or warehousing
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Exposure to bond store processes is advantageous but not essential
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications (if applicable)
Salary & Benefits
R10 000 – R15 000 per month (negotiable based on experience)
