Job Description

Core Duties & Responsibilities Route Monitoring & Control: Track live fleet movements using tracking software to ensure trucks stick to designated routes, schedules, and delivery ETAs. Driver Communication: Liaise continuously with drivers to provide route instructions, handle emergency situations, and monitor driver conduct. Incident & Deviation Management: Quickly re-route vehicles or initiate crisis management protocols when facing traffic, weather delays, breakdowns, or accidents. Administrative Documentation: Verify that loading and offloading are done correctly with the proper documentation, and check driver logbooks. Customer Updates: Provide regular, proactive feedback to clients and stakeholders regarding transit milestones and delivery delays. Shift Handover: Provide clear, detailed handover reports to the incoming day or night shift. Minimum Requirements: Education: A Matric/Grade 12 certificate is essential. A relevant diploma Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Transport is highly advantageous. Experience: Typically requires 1 to 3 years of experience in a fast-paced transport, dispatch, or operations role. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS), live tracking software, and Microsoft Office is required. Key Competencies Shift Work: Must be willing to work on a rotational roster, including night shifts, weekends, and public holidays. Crisis Management: Ability to stay calm and make quick, logical decisions under pressure. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are required. Own transport
