About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Barman to join our team at a high-end property in Franschhoek. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring that every guest has an unforgettable experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons
- Interact with customers, take orders and serve drinks and snacks
- Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
- Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails
- Plan and present bar menu
- Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
- Stay guest-focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
- Comply with all food and beverage regulations
- Maintain standards of hygiene and cleanliness in all bar areas
- Check drinks presentations and temperature to ensure quality
- Ensure the bar is set-up and ready for service
- Conduct fridge temperature checks at the beginning and end of each shift
- Assist management in taking bar stock
Requirements
- Grade 12
- At least 2-3 years previous experience as a Barman in a high-end property
- Excellent wine knowledge
- Passionate about the hospitality industry
- Excellent interpersonal- & communication skills, written and verbal
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent people skills
- Ability to maintain a professional working relationship with all departments
- Comfortable in dealing with very distinguished clientele
