About the Role
Zecutive Consultants is seeking an experienced Fire Engineer to join our team in Gauteng. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fire engineering and be able to hit the ground running, with experience in drafting fire plans according to SANS 10400-T and interfacing with fire departments during the approval process.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and install fire suppression and detection systems in various industries
- Mining industry experience recommended
- Fire plan preparation and submission (as a minimum)
- Sprinkler system design and implementation
- Sprinkler hydraulics
- Smoke control calculations
- Fire detection system design
- Rational fire design with reference to BS 7974 and the supporting PDs
- Prior knowledge of international sprinkler codes such as NFPA & FM Global will be advantageous
- Well-versed with engineering design software
- Performance based engineering (hands on experience with the actual engineering side of things)
- Engineering Project Management of a fire protection system installation (Stage 5)
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering or Relevant qualification essential
- 2-4+ years of experience with the following:
- Design and install fire suppression and detection systems in various industries
- Mining industry experience recommended
- Fire plan preparation and submission (as a minimum)
- Sprinkler system design and implementation
- Sprinkler hydraulics
- Smoke control calculations
- Fire detection system design
- Rational fire design with reference to BS 7974 and the supporting PDs
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.)
