About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our luxury hotel team in Hout Bay. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the property, while maintaining high standards of guest comfort and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out and supervise preventative and reactive maintenance across the property
- Ensure guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities are maintained to luxury standards
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests, prioritising guest comfort and safety
- Support and guide maintenance team members in daily tasks
- Coordinate approved external contractors when required
- Conduct routine inspections and maintain accurate maintenance records
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety, fire, and statutory requirements
- Support sustainability initiatives including energy and water efficiency
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a maintenance or engineering role
- Proven technical knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance
- Working knowledge of health and safety regulations
- High standard of workmanship and pride in the property
- Calm, professional, and solutions-focused approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and on call as required
- Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and attention to detail
