Job Description

Recovers, preserves and analyses digital evidence from devices and the cloud, to a standard that holds up in court. This ad covers 2 positions: 1 Senior (court-ready, expert testimony) and 1 Intermediate. The role reports to the Forensic Investigations Project Lead. Key responsibilities: Conduct cyber and digital forensics, including data recovery, processing, device and communications analysis, and social media / network monitoring. Conduct computer forensic investigations so the recovered evidence is admissible in court. Investigate digital devices and cloud technology – mobile phones, tablets, IoT and connected devices. Seize evidence and maintain a strict chain of custody. Preserve evidence integrity by making forensic duplicates with imaging tools and working only on the copies. Recover data from drives, browser history, chat logs, deleted and accessible space, and operating-system caches. Analyse collected data (e.g. keyword analysis) and apply data analytics to surface anomalies. Compile forensic reports and provide expert testimony. SENIOR DIGITAL / CYBER FORENSIC ANALYST (1 position – court-ready, expert testimony) Qualification: Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Digital Forensics or a related field. Registration / certification: A recognised digital forensics certification such as EnCE, GCFA, GCFE, CHFI or CCFP. Minimum experience: 5 years in digital / computer forensics, with court-ready experience giving expert testimony. INTERMEDIATE DIGITAL / CYBER FORENSIC ANALYST (1 position) Qualification: Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Digital Forensics or a related field. Registration / certification: A recognised digital forensics certification (e.g. EnCE, GCFA, GCFE, CHFI or CCFP) an advantage. Minimum experience: 2-4 years in digital / computer forensics. Skills & competencies (all positions): Forensic imaging and analysis tools (e.g. EnCase, FTK, Cellebrite, X-Ways) Mobile and cloud forensics, chain-of-custody discipline Scripting / data parsing (advantageous) Advantageous: Cloud forensics experience; experience giving expert testimony.
