JOB DESCRIPTION: Job Title: Project Manager – Substation (EPC/PC) & Transformers Class 2 , 3 and 4 Employment Type: 1 Year Contract (Extendable) Work Location: Gauteng, Johannesburg JOB CONTEXT: We are looking for an experienced and motivated Project Manager Substation (EPC/PC) & Transformers Class 2, 3 and 4 to lead and manage the full lifecycle delivery of Eskom substation and transformer projects under EPC/PC frameworks, ensuring compliance with Eskom NTCSA standards, schedule, cost, quality, and safety requirements. In this role, you will oversee projects from planning through to commissioning, coordinating engineering, procurement, construction, contractors, budgets, schedules, and client relationships. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in substation and transformer projects, excellent leadership skills, and a proven ability to deliver safe, high-quality projects on time and within budget. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage end-to-end project delivery from design through procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover; coordinate multidisciplinary teams across substation, PTM&C, civil and telecoms disciplines. Lead Eskom stakeholder engagement, DRT reviews and approvals; manage programme, cost, risk and reporting, Oversee contractor performance and contractual deliverables; ensure timely submission of design documentation, construction drawings and as-built records. QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. 10 years experience in transmission and substation projects in the 132kV to 400kV range; proven EPC/PC project delivery experience. Strong knowledge of Eskom NTCSA processes and governance requirements. ECSA registration as PrEng or PrTech preferred. Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) advantageous. Minimum of 58 years project management experience. Experience working within Eskom or similar regulated environments is an advantage. Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools. Understanding of Eskom governance, procurement, and compliance frameworks. PACKAGE & REMUNERATION: Compensation will be determined based on qualifications, applicable experience, and previous earnings.
