Our client has an opportunity available for a Supply Chain and Procurement Manager based in Johannesburg.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary degree or diploma.
  • Post graduate qualification in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management would be advantageous.
  • 8+ years of procurement experience in the manufacturing industry at a managerial level.
  • Knowledge of technical purchasing parameters and international procurement practices and principles.
  • Advanced MS Office Package skills.
  • Pastel or Glasspro experience would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of BBBEE procurement scorecard would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge and understanding of import / export, sea freight & airfreight regulations

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the companys procurement function including defining and controlling the agreed terms and conditions.
  • Development and implementation of the companys procurement strategy.
  • Responsible for all procurement activities within the supply chain function.
  • Establishing key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to procurement to enable measurement of actual performance against set goals.
  • Developing a national procurement strategy for commodities.
  • Managing and implementing vendor assessments and performance frameworks.
  • Manage and develop the procurement resources at branch level.
  • Negotiating best payment terms without compromising on unit pricing together with effective volume rebates programmes
  • Responsible for transportation analysis and saving opportunities.
  • Provide recommendations for transportation and logistics cost reduction opportunities of both Inbound and Outbound logistics
  • Manage air shipment determination and associated freight expenses.
  • Implement systems and processes to ensure all PODs records and safely stored and accessible.
