Technical Compliance Officer – Johannesburg – R45 000 – R50 000 Ensure the integrity, security, fairness, and regulatory compliance of a multi-jurisdictional gaming ecosystem while acting as the primary liaison between technical teams and external regulatory bodies. About Our Client The company operates within regulated industries, focusing on the gambling, betting, or gaming sectors. It develops and manages gaming platforms, products, content integrations, and technical operations, providing B2B, B2C, and aggregated content solutions across multiple jurisdictions. The Role: Technical Compliance Officer This role ensures that gaming platforms, products, integrations, content, and technical operations comply with all applicable regulatory, technical, security, and certification requirements. It maintains the integrity, security, fairness, and regulatory compliance of the gaming ecosystem. Key Responsibilities Possess 5-7 years of experience in a compliance role within regulated industries, preferably gambling, betting, or gaming. Interpret, translate, and operationalize technical regulatory requirements into actionable engineering tasks. Drive technical certification and recertification activities with recognized test laboratories to ensure zero avoidable delays or findings. Conduct technical risk assessments for new jurisdictions, products, content providers, and integrations to identify compliance gaps or deviations. Review and approve change requests for regulated systems and modules to ensure compliant change management before deployment. Act as the primary interface and subject matter expert between Technical, Legal, Compliance, Quality Assurance, Product, DevOps, Security, and external regulatory bodies or test labs. Maintain a structured register of jurisdictional technical requirements and authoritative documentation on regulatory controls. About You 5-7 years of experience in a compliance role within regulated industries, preferably gambling, betting, or gaming. Bachelor’s degree in law, Risk Management, Compliance, Business Administration, or a related field. Strong experience working with local and international regulatory bodies and implementing compliance programs, policies, and procedures. Knowledge of corporate governance, licensing requirements, regulatory reporting obligations, and conducting regulatory risk assessments, audits, and investigations. Highly organized, proactive, solution-oriented, detail-oriented, process-driven, interpersonally effective, and excellent written and spoken communicator. Professional compliance certification such as CAMS, ICA, ACAMS, or equivalent (advantageous).
