- Degree / Diploma in General Nursing
- Minimum 2 years’ general nursing experience (post community service)
- Clinical assessment, phlebotomy, and vaccination experience
- Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Certification advantageous
- Fluency in English and a second language (Afrikaans and/or isiXhosa)
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organisational, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary Research team
This isn’t just nursing; you’ll play a key role in advancing groundbreaking clinical research focused on improving health outcomes in communities affected by infectious and public health diseases.
? What you’ll own:
- Conduct informed consent and perform protocol-required clinical procedures in line with study requirements
- Provide pregnancy and contraception assessment and counselling, HIV pre- and post-test counselling, risk-reduction guidance, and adherence support
- Perform clinical assessments including vital signs, symptom review, specimen collection (urine, blood, vaginal swabs), and administration and monitoring of study drugs/vaccinations
- Conduct point-of-care testing including pregnancy tests, urinalysis, HIV, haemoglobin, and glucose testing
- Collaborate with laboratory staff regarding sample processing and storage according to protocol requirements
- Ensure accurate data documentation in compliance with GCP standards and assist with data entry and query resolution
- Perform quality control checks on participant files in accordance with SOPs
- Support study and site administration including stock control, ordering of consumables and laboratory kits, infection control, and biohazard waste management
- Maintain fully stocked clinic rooms and emergency trolley readiness
- Assist with clinic bookings and participant flow to ensure efficient site operations
- Attend meetings and required training sessions and maintain access to study management systems
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders across multiple platforms

- Monday to Friday | 40 hours per week
- Based in Khayelitsha
