About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Safari & Experiences Manager to lead immersive safari and guest experiences at a luxury country hotel in Zululand. The ideal candidate will be a guest-focused hospitality professional with a passion for safari operations, conservation, community engagement, and creating authentic, immersive guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee safari, boating, and guest experience operations
  • Manage safari vehicles, boats, equipment, and operational readiness
  • Lead and develop the safari and experiences team
  • Deliver exceptional guest engagement and guiding experiences
  • Design and implement safari, wellness, conservation, and cultural experiences
  • Coordinate sustainability and community engagement initiatives
  • Build strong relationships with conservation partners and tourism stakeholders
  • Ensure safety, compliance, and operational standards are maintained
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and operational planning
  • Collaborate with marketing on guest experience content and promotions

Requirements

  • Previous experience managing safari, lodge, or experiential tourism operations
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities
  • Passion for hospitality, conservation, and guest experience
  • Experience managing safari vehicles and operational assets
  • Valid driver’s licence with PDP essential
  • Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, and public holidays

Qualifications

  • Valid skipper’s licence and boating experience (highly advantageous)
  • FGASA qualification or guiding background (highly advantageous)
  • Experience managing guest boat experiences (highly advantageous)
  • Hospitality management experience within boutique or experiential properties (highly advantageous)
  • Knowledge of Zululand reserves and regional tourism offerings (highly advantageous)
  • First Aid qualification (highly advantageous)
