Midrand: Senior Bookkeeper/Accountant

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Bookkeeper/Accountant to join our team in Midrand. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring compliance with company policies, and driving process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monthly financial and management reporting
  • Meeting specific month end deadlines in a timely manner
  • Capture financial entries, review financial performance and distribute financial reports
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparation of GP reports for analysis, and margin interrogation
  • Compilation of G.L recons monthly
  • Fixed Asset Capex maintenance including applications, additions, disposal, depreciation and related accounting entries
  • Prepare Exco packs and PDF documents
  • Maintain internal control and compliance with company policies
  • Ad hoc tasks as and when requested
  • Compliance/ Internal Processes Monitor Finance compliance related tasks
  • Regular review and updates where necessary of Finance policies as allocated
  • Involvement in internal and external audits ensuring no material issues are noted
  • Drive system improvements where reporting is inaccurate or can be implemented to create efficiencies

Requirements

  • Matric & relevant Accounting Diploma/Degree SAIBA OR SAIPA articles
  • Advantageous 5 – 8 years working experience as a Senior Group Accountant
  • Must have been in a role reporting to the Financial Director and has involved in audits etc.
  • Up to date accounting knowledge, doing foreign exchange accounting, dealing with treasury matters and complex accounting matters
  • Proficiency in Excel and Outlook
  • Knowledge of MS Office
