About the Role

HotelJobs is partnering with a world-class safari lodge situated within the Kruger National Park to recruit an experienced and passionate Assistant Lodge Manager. Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Lodge Manager in all operational aspects of the lodge
  • Ensure that both service and presentation standards are always upheld to the highest level
  • Oversight of guest relations, housekeeping, maintenance, and gardening standards
  • Financial administration including stock control and ordering
  • Manage and mentor lodge staff
  • Maintain the guest database
  • Ensure seamless day-to-day running of concierge and reception functions

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years experience in a five-star hotel or world-class lodge
  • At least 2 years in a management role
  • Exceptional Food and Beverage knowledge with awareness of dietaries and allergens
  • High standards of service excellence and a genuine passion for the hospitality industry
  • Strong financial management ability, including stock control and administration of orders
  • Excellent management, communication, and staff development skills
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet applications
  • Excellent English proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking)
  • Assertive, patient, organised, calm under pressure, and solution-oriented
  • Clear understanding of basic labour law and disciplinary procedures
