Truck Workshop Foreman Location: Polokwane, Limpopo Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent Basic Salary: R40,000 per month (Negotiable based on experience) Benefits: Medical Aid, Pension Fund, and Company Cellphone Contract About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled, energetic, and leadership-driven Truck Workshop Foreman to oversee our fleet maintenance and workshop operations in Polokwane. In this role, you will lead a team of qualified diesel mechanics and assistants, ensuring maximum fleet availability, strict adherence to safety standards, and efficient turnaround times. If you are a hands-on leader who prides yourself on technical excellence and keeping a heavy-duty fleet running like clockwork, we want to hear from you. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and schedule the daily tasks of diesel mechanics, apprentices, and workshop staff. Workshop Operations: Oversee the repair, servicing, and preventative maintenance of heavy commercial vehicles (trucks and trailers). Diagnostics & Quality Control: Perform advanced fault-finding and diagnostics, and conduct final inspections on all vehicles before they are cleared for the road. Job Card Management: Open, track, and close job cards, ensuring accurate recording of labor hours and parts used. Breakdown Coordination: Manage roadside breakdowns and dispatch support teams efficiently to minimize downtime. Health & Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment in full compliance with the OHS Act. Qualifications and Experience Trade Test: Qualified Diesel Mechanic (Section 13 / Section 26D red seal trade test certificate is non-negotiable). Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience acting in a Foreman, Workshop Supervisor, or Team Lead capacity within a commercial vehicle/heavy truck workshop. Technical Knowledge: Deep technical expertise in major heavy truck brands, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and electronic diagnostics. Driver’s License: Valid Code 14 (EC) driver’s license with a valid PDP is highly advantageous. Skills: Strong communication skills (bilingualism is an asset), exceptional problem-solving abilities, and basic computer literacy for administrative tasks.
