About the Role

The Utilities Foreman (Instrumentation Focus) is a critical role that oversees the maintenance and operational activities of plant utilities, with a focus on instrumentation. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team, managing contractors, and implementing preventative and predictive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all maintenance and operational activities related to plant utilities.
  • Lead instrumentation maintenance, calibration, and fault-finding on control systems and field devices.
  • Ensure optimal performance of boilers, compressors, pumps, HVAC systems, and water treatment plants.
  • Manage PLCs, SCADA systems, and process control loops to ensure accurate monitoring and control.
  • Drive preventative and predictive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of artisans and technicians.
  • Manage contractors and service providers for specialized utility and instrumentation work.
  • Analyze plant performance data and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and maintenance records.

Requirements

  • National Diploma or N6 in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Trade Test: Instrumentation Technician or Electrician (with strong instrumentation experience).
  • Minimum 58 years of experience in utilities maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proven experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, and process control instrumentation.
