Our client, a leading company in the Heavy Steel Construction sector, is urgently seeking an experienced Fabrication Workshop Manager to oversee and manage their SMPP workshop operations in Rustenburg. The ideal candidate must have strong managerial experience, excellent technical knowledge, and a proven track record in managing fabrication teams, production output, and workshop efficiency. Key Responsibilities Workshop Management Oversee daily operations of the fabrication workshop Manage production planning, workflow, and job allocation Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards SMPP Oversight Manage structural, mechanical, platework, and piping fabrication activities Ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and QA/QC requirements Team Leadership Lead and supervise artisans, welders, boilermakers, and workshop staff Conduct performance management, skills development, and training Quality & Safety Compliance Enforce SHEQ standards and ensure safe workshop practices Conduct inspections, audits, and ensure adherence to fabrication quality standards Client & Project Coordination Liaise with clients, project managers, and engineers Provide progress updates and resolve technical or operational issues Administration & Reporting Manage workshop documentation, job cards, and production reports Monitor material usage, stock levels, and procurement requirements Minimum Requirements: Experience Previous experience in a managerial position within an SMPP workshop Strong background in heavy steel fabrication and workshop operations Skills & Competencies Strong leadership and people?management skills Excellent technical understanding of fabrication processes Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Strong problem?solving and decision?making ability High attention to detail and quality control
