About the Role

We are seeking an experienced IT Support Technician to join our team in Somerset West. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day technical support to employees, resolving hardware, software, network and access-related issues promptly and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day IT support to employees, resolving hardware, software, network and access-related issues promptly and professionally
  • Set up, configure and maintain user devices including PCs, laptops, peripherals and mobile devices
  • Assist with installation, configuration and maintenance of servers, network equipment and IT infrastructure under senior IT guidance
  • Manage IT assets including allocation, tracking, maintenance and software licence updates within the ERP or asset management system
  • Support IT procurement processes ordering, receiving and documenting hardware and software purchases
  • Maintain accurate IT records including user accounts, equipment registers and system documentation
  • Troubleshoot and escalate technical issues effectively, keeping users informed throughout
  • Contribute to maintaining IT standards, security practices and operational continuity

Requirements

  • Advanced Diploma or National Diploma in Information Technology or a related field
  • 35 years of relevant IT support experience
  • Experience with cloud services AWS preferred
  • Experience with network security (intrusion detection, encryption)
  • Advantageous: Linux administration, business networking, Python (PCPP certifications), AWS Professional or Specialty certifications, Git/SVN, enterprise networking policy, authentication systems (LDAP, SSO, OAuth)
