About the Role
The Electronic Technician Assistant will support the maintenance and operation of toll collection equipment and systems at Tolcon Group’s toll plazas and office buildings. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting daily and monthly inspections, ensuring system maintenance, and providing technical assistance to other departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting daily and monthly inspections of all toll collection equipment, traffic management peripherals within the Toll Plaza
- Ensure that all TCE systems are adequately maintained as per procedures and client requirements
- Attend to minor breakdowns and respond to queries timeously
- Install new equipment, replace old equipment, and repair in accordance with regulatory guidelines and company procedure
- Read and interpret schematic and technical drawings
- Report all incidents in the prescribed manner
- Keep record of work done
- Provide support and assistance to other departments as and when required to ensure customer service satisfaction and efficiency
- Ensure tools are kept in a good and clean working order
- Ensure all health, safety, and security policies and procedures are always followed
- Comply with all rules, regulations, as well as maintenance policies and procedures of the company
- Ensure that all equipment is in good working order to ensure the Company can comply with all contractual obligations
- Perform overtime and standby duties as required
- Assist with overseeing and managing ad hoc projects as and when required
Requirements
- NQF level 5 or higher in Electrical / Electronics / IT related field
- At least 3 years related experience
- Valid Unendorsed Code 08 Drivers License
- Knowledgeable on:
- MIS Electronic Toll Collection System
- Industrial Networking experience (advantageous)
- Plc experience (advantageous)
- Understanding operation and maintenance manuals
- SHEQ compliance and good workmanship practices
