About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Inventory Controller to join our luxury lodge team in Sabi Sands/Thabazimbi, responsible for overseeing multi-department stock management and maintaining inventory integrity across a high-end hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee daily stock movements across all departments (Beverage, Kitchen, Housekeeping, Spa, Retail, Stationery, Operational Equipment, etc.)
• Ensure strict SOP compliance across all inventory processes
• Verify all Inventory Administrator inputs (POs, GRNs, transfers, wastage, issues, credits)
• Correct discrepancies before daily cut-off
• Maintain accurate item categorisation aligned with property standards
• Reconcile POS sales vs stock depletion (Bar, Retail, Spa, Gallery)
• Validate recipe-linked consumption accuracy
• Investigate discrepancies same-day and enforce reconciliation before replenishment
• Validate purchase requests against budgets and PAR levels
• Check item codes, pricing, suppliers, and UOM accuracy
• Approve/verify transfers, issues, wastage, and credit documentation
• Flag irregular purchasing or stock movement patterns
• Oversee GRN accuracy and receiving procedures
• Ensure FIFO rotation, expiry control, and secure storage compliance
• Conduct weekly storeroom audits and safety checks
• Maintain chemical segregation and storeroom integrity
• Lead mid-month and month-end stock counts (including blind counts)
• Investigate variances using POS, GRNs, and usage data
• Maintain full audit trail of all discrepancies and corrections
Requirements
- 2–4 years’ experience in hospitality inventory / stock control
- Strong analytical and numerical ability
- Experience with MyStock / MyInventory / POS systems (TallOrder or similar)
- Understanding of multi-department lodge operations (F&B, Spa, Housekeeping, Retail)
