About the Role
We are seeking a creative and passionate Pastry Chef to join a leading luxury private game reserve in the Sabi Sands. This is an excellent opportunity for a pastry professional who thrives in a high-end, remote safari environment and takes pride in delivering world-class dessert and bakery offerings.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and prepare high-quality pastries, desserts, breads, and baked goods for lodge dining
- Develop seasonal dessert menus aligned with luxury safari dining standards
- Ensure exceptional presentation, consistency, and creativity in all pastry items
- Manage stock control, ordering, and cost-effective ingredient usage
- Maintain strict hygiene, safety, and HACCP compliance standards
- Support the broader kitchen team during service when required
- Contribute to innovation and guest experience enhancement through dessert offerings
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or strong Pastry CDP in a 5-star lodge or fine dining environment
- Strong understanding of high-end pastry techniques and presentation standards
- Creative flair with attention to detail and consistency
- Ability to work independently in a remote lodge setting
- Strong organisational and stock management skills
- Passion for luxury hospitality and guest-focused dining experiences
Qualifications
Formal culinary/pastry qualification advantageous
