About the Role
Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Purchasing & Procurement Manager for a luxury private game reserve in the Sabi Sands. This is a live-in role suited to a highly organised and analytical professional with a strong background in procurement within a hospitality environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring efficient purchasing operations, cost control, and effective stock management in a remote bush setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and uphold procurement policies, procedures and ethical standards
- Ensure all purchasing activities comply with internal controls and audit requirements
- Provide guidance on supplier selection, procurement best practices and cost control
- Continuously review procurement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Manage supplier relationships and resolve issues proactively
- Oversee credit applications and maintain accurate supplier records
- Draft, review and manage supplier contracts
- Manage the end-to-end purchasing process, ensuring timely delivery of goods
- Anticipate operational needs to ensure uninterrupted supply of critical items
- Lead, mentor and develop the stores team
- Oversee stock management processes, minimising wastage and shrinkage
- Coordinate and supervise monthly stock takes
- Prepare and manage procurement budgets
- Monitor expenditure and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Produce accurate monthly procurement and stock reports
- Oversee all store categories including food, beverages, consumables, maintenance supplies, chemicals and operating equipment
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a purchasing and procurement role, preferably within hospitality
- Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Sage X3
- Experience with HMS Infor would be advantageous
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with budgeting experience
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal

Salary & Benefits
- R27,000 (live-in)
- Food allowance of R2,514 per month (in addition to salary)
- Medical aid contribution (50% after successful probation period)
- Pension fund contribution (50% after successful probation period)
- Share of gratuities and additional incentives upon lodge reopening in 2027
- Discounted accommodation for family and friends (upon reopening)
- Two complimentary gym memberships after probation
- Leave cycle: 4 weeks on, 2 weeks off
