Job Title: Linesman Split Meter Installation ProjectJob PurposeThe Linesman will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and commissioning of split prepaid meter systems, including associated low-voltage (LV) distribution networks. The role ensures safe, compliant, and high-quality electrical work in line with project specifications and regulatory standards.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall split prepaid meters (keypad units and metering units) in residential and commercial propertiesPerform wiring, cabling, and connections between meter units and distribution boardsMount and install meter boxes, conduits, and associated electrical infrastructureConduct disconnections and reconnections of existing electrical supply where requiredTest installations for functionality, accuracy, and safety complianceAssist with fault finding and troubleshooting on meter installations and LV networksEnsure all installations comply with SANS standards and local municipal requirementsRead and interpret electrical drawings, layouts, and specificationsComplete job cards, installation reports, and as-built documentationMaintain tools, equipment, and materials in good working conditionAdhere to all health and safety regulations, including the use of PPELiaise with supervisors, electricians, and project teams to ensure timely completion of work.
