About the Role

Join our team as a Diesel Mechanic / Foreman Cementation in Westonaria, West Rand and Gauteng. We are looking for an experienced individual who can supervise a workshop team focused on maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty diesel machinery used in underground mining, construction, or cementing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervision & Team Management: Hands-on to lead and guide a team of diesel mechanics, including assigning tasks, training, mentoring apprentices, and ensuring high-quality workmanship.
• Working on sites in a 120km radius, standby, overtime!
• Preventative & Emergency Maintenance: Oversee daily planning of repairs on cementation/heavy plant equipment to minimize downtime.
• Technical Diagnosis & Repair: Diagnose and repair complex diesel engine, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems on heavy machinery.
• Safety & Compliance: Enforce health, safety, and SHEQ policies, including conducting risk assessments, ensuring ISO compliance, and managing lock-out procedures.
• Workshop Administration: Manage work orders, maintain maintenance records, order spare parts, and report on plant availability.
• Quality Control: Conduct road tests or operational tests of repaired equipment to verify performance.

Requirements

Trade Certification: Qualified Diesel Mechanic / Earthmoving Equipment with a recognized Trade Test Certificate (Red Seal in South Africa).

Supervisory Experience: 10 years in a senior mechanic or workshop foreman role.

Industry Experience: Proven experience with heavy-duty mining, construction, or cementation equipment (BELL Equipment a MUST, Komatsu, Liebherr, Volvo ADT).
