About the Role

SA Metal Group, South Africa’s oldest and largest metal recycling company, is seeking a qualified electrician to join our Engineering team in Cape Town. As an experienced electrician, you will be responsible for maintaining and upgrading existing electrical control and distribution systems, performing electrical diagnoses and repairs, and assisting with ad-hoc duties as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting the team with maintenance and upgrading of existing electrical control and distribution systems
  • Electrical diagnoses and suitable repairs
  • Housekeeping
  • Point to point checks on PLCs
  • Point to point checks on control and power systems
  • Read and correctly interpret electrical diagrams
  • Assist the department manager with ad-hoc duties

Requirements

  • Qualified Red Seal Electrical Trade test
  • Minimum of 8 years relevant working experience
  • Adhering to the regulations as set out in the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Atleast National N3 certificate for Electricians
  • Good communication skills (speak, read and write English)
  • Prepared to work overtime
  • Valid Drivers license

  • Full understanding and knowledge of Health and Safety Rules and regulations

  • Excellent standards of execution
