About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Lodge Manager to lead our intimate safari lodge, offering a serene experience for twelve guests across six en-suite rooms. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading operations, mentoring staff, and ensuring every detail reflects our ethos of quiet luxury.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily lodge operations, ensuring seamless guest experiences and efficient team coordination
- Manage and mentor staff across departments: housekeeping, kitchen, guiding, maintenance, and front-of-house
- Handle guest relations with warmth and professionalism, resolving issues and anticipating needs
- Coordinate logistics for game drives, bush walks, transfers, and special requests
- Monitor stock levels, procurement, and supplier relationships to maintain service standards
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and conservation protocols
- Maintain lodge infrastructure and aesthetics, reporting maintenance needs proactively
- Prepare financial reports, track budgets, and support revenue optimization
- Represent the lodge in marketing efforts, travel trade partnerships, and guest communications
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience in hospitality or lodge management, preferably in a remote or safari setting
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities under pressure
- Proficiency in lodge management systems, booking platforms, and basic accounting
- Deep appreciation for wildlife, conservation, and guest engagement
