About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Chef de Partie to take ownership of a kitchen section within a busy, high-volume hotel environment. This role is ideal for a chef who is confident in their abilities, thrives under pressure, and is ready to step into a leadership role while maintaining exceptional culinary standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for a designated kitchen section
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to established standards
- Ensure consistency, quality, and timely delivery during service
- Guide and support Commis and Demi Chefs within the section
- Assist with training and development of junior team members
- Maintain strong communication with senior chefs and other sections
- Ensure cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene standards are upheld
- Assist with stock control, stock rotation, and minimising wastage
- Monitor portion control and contribute to cost management
Requirements
- Matric and a recognised Culinary Qualification
- Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in a professional kitchen
- Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Demi Chef ready to step up
- Experience within a hotel or high-volume kitchen environment essential
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and presentation
- Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards

- South African ID or valid work permit (if applicable)
