About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced General Manager to lead our boutique hotel in White River. The ideal candidate will be a strong all-rounder who thrives in a boutique environment and is fully committed to guest satisfaction. As a key member of our management team, you will oversee all aspects of the hotel, ensuring exceptional service delivery to both local and international guests while maximising occupancy, revenue, and overall profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full operational management of the hotel
  • Driving occupancy, revenue, and yield strategies
  • Managing budgets, costs, and financial performance (P&L)
  • Overseeing reservations, sales, and agent relationships
  • Maintaining exceptional guest service standards
  • Leading, motivating, and developing the team
  • Managing food & beverage performance, including menu costing
  • Overseeing maintenance, property upkeep, and projects
  • Ensuring compliance with all legal and operational standards

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a General Manager or senior hospitality leadership role
  • Strong financial and business acumen
  • Excellent leadership and staff management skills
  • Hands-on, proactive, and solutions-driven
  • Strong understanding of revenue management and reservations systems
  • Passion for service excellence and guest experience
  • Ability to work long hours and be on standby when required
  • Willingness to live on-site

Qualifications

  • Formal education/certifications (if applicable)

Salary & Benefits

  • R30,000 per month (negotiable based on experience)
  • Live-in accommodation (1-bedroom unit with utilities – water, electricity and security included)
  • Performance-based incentives (at management discretion)
