Job Description

Minimum requirements:

  • Matric
  • Tertiary qualification in Maritime studies / Import / Export advantages
  • Minimum of 6 years experience in shipping or similar environment
  • At least 2 years experience in ships agency sales
  • Valid drivers license
  • Client visits 
  • New business development, identify and secure new clients
  • Client retention by maintain existing relationships
  • Filing and checking of SQs
  • Freight applications: Apply for rates, routings, feeder space, waivers, etc.
  • Provide customers with freight rate quotations
  • Provide customer support, i.e. handling of shipment and service queries if required.
  • Liaise with Principal on BIZ matters
  • Share guidelines, notices, sailing schedules
  • Database updates
  • Work on tenders and freight contracts negotiations
