About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to join our team in Cape Town City Centre, responsible for developing and implementing standard costing models and cost allocation frameworks. The successful candidate will provide valuable insights and recommendations to management through analysis and reporting of cost variances.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain standard costing models and cost allocation frameworks
- Analyse and report on cost variances, providing insights and recommendations to management
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accurate cost projections
- Monitor and control inventory, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in stock management
- Prepare detailed cost and margin reports to support strategic and operational decision-making
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve processes
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies
Requirements
- Minimum 34 years experience in a cost accounting or similar role
- Experience within a manufacturing or FMCG environment is highly beneficial
- Working knowledge of Syspro is advantageous
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication skills with the ability to engage across departments
Qualifications
- BCom in Accounting or a related field
- CIMA qualification (or in progress) is advantageous
