Responsibilities
- Manage and lead the Maternity Unit, ensuring high standards of patient care and safety.
- Supervise and support a team of nurses and healthcare professionals.
- Develop and implement unit protocols and procedures in line with best practices.
- Maintain compliance with health care regulations and institutional policies.
- Oversee the administrative functions of the unit, including staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Ensure effective communication with patients, families, and colleagues to enhance patient satisfaction.
- Monitor patient outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Promote a collaborative and supportive work environment focused on team development.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse qualification with valid SANC registration.
- A minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role within a maternity unit.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage a diverse team.
- In-depth knowledge of maternity care best practices and legal guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in managing budgets and resources effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
