About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead our Durban branch and drive growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for managing a team of service technicians, overseeing administration and process control, stock and inventory management, customer and commercial management, and financial and business leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of service technicians
  • Ensure optimal staffing levels with appropriately skilled technicians
  • Plan and allocate workloads effectively
  • Develop and implement technician training plans
  • Build a sustainable pipeline of technical talent
  • Oversee all branch administration related to:
  • Maintenance contracts
  • Payable service work
  • Ensure accuracy and efficiency of the workflow:
  • Technician → Admin → Customer / System
  • Review and approve administrative reporting
  • Maintain strong process discipline and compliance
  • Ensure accurate control of parts and inventory
  • Maintain agreed minimum stock levels
  • Oversee replenishment processes and stock accuracy
  • Manage the stores function to prevent losses and downtime
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Drive customer satisfaction and service quality
  • Identify and grow new business opportunities within the service division
  • Collaborate with sales to ensure seamless service support
  • Leverage service delivery quality to support equipment/unit sales
  • Manage the branch as a profit centre
  • Take accountability for:
  • Profitability
  • Cost control
  • Revenue growth
  • Implement strategies to turn around and improve performance (branch currently loss-making)
  • Track key financial and operational KPIs

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience managing a technical service branch or profit centre
  • Strong commercial acumen (costing, margins, profitability)
  • Proven leadership of technical/service teams
  • Experience in after-sales/service environments (preferred)
  • Strong operational and administrative skills
  • Ability to drive turnaround and growth strategies

Preferred Profile

  • Mid-career professional (typically ±10–20 years total experience)
  • Strong leadership presence and accountability
  • Customer-centric mindset
  • Highly organised and results-driven
