About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Head of PR and Communications to join our team in Durban. As a forward-thinking organisation, we are committed to building a powerful, purpose-led brand presence through meaningful stories, authentic communication, and strong reputation management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic direction and execution of the company’s PR and communications strategy
- Manage and nurture relationships with media, stakeholders, and internal teams
- Oversee all media engagement, brand visibility, and thought leadership initiatives
- Craft and oversee impactful content across media, digital, and internal channels
- Provide strategic communications counsel to senior management
- Manage crisis communications with professionalism and discretion
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing communications team
Requirements
- 6-12 years of experience in Public Relations, Advertising, or Marketing
- 3+ years of experience in a senior or leadership communications role
- Proven ability to write for media and manage campaigns within an agency or marketing environment
- Demonstrated experience handling crisis communications and reputation management
- Strong strategic, creative, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Highly organised and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
